Autumn Leaves Handspun Yarn (268yds)

Description

This item is a set of three matching skeins of two ply handspun synthetic yarn with the following measurements:

Approximately 9 wraps per inch (worsted/medium weight)

Skein 1: 100.5 g (3.55 oz) and 114.9 metres (125.7 yards)
Skein 2: 83.7 g (2.95 oz) and 83.9 metres (92.8 yards)
Skein 3: 40.4 g (1.43 oz) and 46.9 metres (51.3 yards)

Total: 224.6 g (7.93 oz) and 245.8 metres (268.8 yards)

This yarn is made from synthetic fibre in four colours – russet brown, orange, red and yellow – to give an impression of the changing leaves of autumn. The singles were spun with a Z twist and the resulting two ply yarn is S twist. The yarn was then washed and hung to dry.

Synthetic fibre is very good for people with sensitivities to wool or other natural fibres. Please note that I cannot guarantee that this yarn has no wool in but if you buy this yarn and react to it before you remove the bands I will give a full refund of your purchase price.

This yarn is quite soft and would be suitable for a number of uses. I do not know whether or not this yarn would felt well, but I suspect not.

According to the Knit-Kard from Nancy’s Knit Knacks, the following needle sizes are recommended for a yarn of 9-11 WPI:

US Needle size: 7 – 9
Metric Needle size: 4.5 – 5.5
Hook size: G – H
Gauge per inch: 4 – 5
