4 oz Shetland Fiber

Description

This dyed roving is 113.1 g (3.99 oz) in weight and dyed with turquoise and lemon yellow acid dyes, resulting in a colourway of yellow, green and blue. The fibre is Shetland, which is one of my favourites to spin. I sourced it when I was living in London. Spin singles or ply it with itself to get 4 ounces of finished yarn. Ply it with another similar shade to make it stretch even further.

I dyed this pre-processed roving myself. After dyeing the fibre was gently rinsed to ensure that a minimum of loose dye remained. It’s very soft and is suitable for spinning or felting.
