This is a new MackBeth Whistle, #26, a telescoping brass high D model with brass head and white plastic fipple plug. When collapsed it measures between six and a half and seven inches. The whistle is tunable by adjusting the position of the top section.
This whistle is classified as moderate to loud, with some pressure needed for best sound. The best cross fingerings are OXXOOO, OXXXOO, or OXXXOX. OXXXXO does not work well. THe mouthpiece is extremely narrow at the end, giving it a delicate look. Visit MackBeth Whistles to hear a sound sample.
