3.8 oz Shetland Fiber

Description

This dyed roving is 108.8 g (3.84 oz) in weight and dyed with black and crimson acid dyes, resulting in a colourway of blue-black and cherry-red on a base of creamy white. The fibre is Shetland, which is one of my favourites to spin. I sourced this fiber when I was living in London. Spin singles or ply it with itself to get nearly four ounces of finished yarn. Ply it with another similar shade to make it stretch even further.

I dyed this pre-processed roving myself. After dyeing the fibre was gently rinsed to ensure that a minimum of loose dye remained. It’s very soft and is suitable for spinning or felting.
